Is rootbeer evil?

It all started with what one would assume a simple pregnancy craving. Then it became an obsession. I can't get through the day without it.

A simple trip back from Cincinnati left me parched one evening. My husband stops at a Speedway and comes with a giant fountain Barq's rootbeer. After that, the love affair started. The next day, I needed more.

I tried to put it out of my mind for a few days but within 2 days I was requesting rootbeer. I decided that bribery would be the best way to get Karee to bring me some home - assuming he would pick up a 12 pack.

$32 dollars and 9 brands of rootbeer later, I cannot stop. I don't even try. I have tried almost all of the brands, some are better than others. Karee is in on it with me and we discuss the brand of the evening as we sip on the sudsy sweet goodness.

Stay tuned for this weekends official taste test. Judges: Karee & Sara Brown.

  3. Barq's gets my vote for best rootbeer hands down. Other than Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer, but that isn't really rootbeer, it's a birch beer... but mmmm so good.

  5. I totally agree with SarahMack. IBC then Barq's. Even if you go beyound the taste and look at the packaging, IBC even comes in a 40 oz. But back to taste, IBC takes me back to when I was a kid finishing up a hard day of playing hard and mom giving me a root beer in the bottle. Of course I can also compare it to my adult life... well I let you figure that out for yourselves. But I agree... IBC BABY!!!
